A little bit about Monica and Skinpathy…
Skinpathy is an ever evolving venture that was born out of my broad interests in skin care, which range from the science and latest technologies, to the mastery of beauty therapy and skincare techniques. Since January 2018 I have proudly expanded and opened ‘The Skin & Beauty Clinic’ in collaboration with 2 other skin professionals, Nicola and Helen. Together we have over 60 years experience in our fields of expertise.
I am a graduate in Biology from University College London and in Health Sciences & Homeopathy from the University of Westminster and worked in the pharmaceutical industry and natural therapy sector. But it was when I moved to California and after the birth of my first daughter in 2004 that Skinpathy started to develop. I started formulating my own range of natural skincare products. I named this ‘De Bella Natural Skincare’ after my grandmother who was a beauty therapist and owner of successful ‘De Bella’ beauty centres in Rome for over 40 years.
My skincare range still keeps me very busy but I felt that to do skin care right, I needed to practice the art and started to retrain as a Beauty Therapist in 2005. I qualified to Level 3 in Beauty Therapy with Electrolysis and then went to gaining Distinction in Level 4 degree module in Laser and Pulsed Light Technologies in 2011. And with it came the real start of Skinpathy. I perform Laser IPL treatments, blending my love for science and beauty, and in 2013 I trained in Advanced Electrolysis for the removal of thread veins, milia and skin blemishes. I now also make active skincare to complement Skin Rejuvenation treatments that I offer and am always on the look-out for the finest natural and bioactive ingredients.
In March 2015 I qualified in Transgender Electrolysis and in June 2016 I qualified in the Sterex Level 4 Advanced Electrolysis Cosmetic Treatments. In January 2017 I became registered as a member of the BIAE (British Institute & Association of Electrolysis) and I couldn’t be prouder as it represents the highest standards of practice for electrolysis both in the UK and Internationally. I regularly attend BIAE seminars and I have added to my Level 4 qualification with the Advanced Cosmetic Procedures training. I love to learn about skin and am an associate member of the British Dermatological Nursing Group.
Skinpathy’s ultimate aim is to deliver that ‘feel-good and look-good’ factor using the best technologies and techniques out there, and all equipment is proudly British-made.
